This non-opening skylight is triple glazed with 6 mm toughened, self-cleaning glass and a U-value of 0.9 W/m²K, providing exceptional thermal efficiency and energy savings. The glass units feature argon-filled cavities and a Low-E coating, delivering excellent insulation, solar protection, and UV resistance while maintaining a crystal-clear view. Installation Recommendations
- Internal Dimensions: The top pane features a black border, extending the external dimensions by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand to ensure a proper fit. For example, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm opening.
- Upstand Construction: Construct the upstand using 2×1 or 2×2-inch timber for a stable, precise fit.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Apply foam rope atop the internal support baton to balance weight and minimise stress on the glass. Use Dowsil 791 black sealant for a watertight seal — acrylic sealants are not compatible with this product.
- Flashing: Ensure the full circumference of your skylight is properly flashed. One 7.5-metre roll typically covers skylights up to 1000 x 2000 mm (approximately 6 metres of total perimeter).
