Installation Guidance
To ensure the best performance and secure fit, follow these professional installation recommendations:
- Dimensions: The top pane includes a black border, increasing the overall external size by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for accurate fitting. For example, a 600 x 900 mm unit requires a 610 x 910 mm opening.
- Upstand Construction: Build the upstand (the timber frame) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for solid support.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Apply foam rope on the internal baton to distribute glass weight evenly. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant to create a watertight seal. Acrylic sealants must not be used as they are incompatible with the skylight design.
