Installation Guidance
For the best results, follow these expert installation recommendations:
- Dimensions: The top glass pane features a black border that increases the overall external dimensions by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an extra 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for proper fitting. For example, a 600 x 900 mm unit requires a 610 x 910 mm opening.
- Upstand Construction: Build the upstand (the timber framework) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for a secure base.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Apply foam rope on top of the internal support baton to distribute weight evenly and reduce stress. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant to form a watertight seal. Acrylic sealants are not suitable for use with this product.
