Installation Guidelines
For best results and long-term durability, please follow the recommendations below:
- Dimensions: The top glass pane includes a black border, increasing the overall external size by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an extra 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for fitting accuracy. For example, a 600 x 900 mm unit requires a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
- Upstand Construction: Build the upstand (timber framework) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for optimal support.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Apply foam rope on the internal support baton to distribute weight evenly. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant for a watertight finish. Acrylic sealants must not be used as they are incompatible with the unit.
