Installation Guidelines
For the best results and long-lasting performance, follow these installation recommendations:
- Dimensions: The top glass pane features a black border that extends the external dimensions by 200 mm on each side.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand to ensure a proper fit. For example, a 600 x 900 mm unit should have a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
- Upstand Construction: Build the upstand (the timber frame supporting the skylight) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for optimal support.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Apply foam rope on top of the supporting baton to distribute weight evenly. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant for a watertight finish. Acrylic sealants must not be used as they are incompatible with this system.
