Installation Guidance
- Internal Dimensions: The top pane includes a black border, extending the external dimensions by approximately 200 mm in each direction.
- Creating the Opening: Allow an additional 10 mm internally (from upstand to upstand) for an accurate fit. For example, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm opening.
- Upstand Construction: The upstand (timber framework) should be built using 2×1 or 2×2-inch timber for secure installation.
- Foam Rope & Sealant: Apply foam rope above the internal support baton to distribute weight evenly and minimise stress on the glass. Seal with Dowsil 791 black sealant for a watertight perimeter. Acrylic sealants should be avoided as they are incompatible with the system.
- Flashing: Flashing must cover the entire perimeter of the skylight. Each roll (7.5 metres) is sufficient for skylights up to approximately 6 metres in total circumference, such as a 1000 x 2000 mm model.
