Installation Guidelines
For best results, we recommend following these professional installation steps to ensure a secure, watertight fit:
- Dimensions: The top pane includes a black border, extending the external measurements by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for accurate fitting. For instance, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
- Upstand Construction: Use 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers to build the upstand for proper stability and alignment.
- Foam Rope & Sealant: Apply foam rope on the internal supporting baton to distribute weight evenly. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant for a watertight seal. Avoid acrylic sealants, as they are not compatible with this product.
