Installation Guidelines

• Internal Dimensions: The top pane includes a black border, increasing the external dimensions by approximately 200 mm in each direction.
• Creating the Opening: Allow an additional 10 mm internally (from upstand to upstand) for accurate fitting. For example, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
• Upstand Construction: The upstand (wooden framework) should be built using 2×1 or 2×2-inch timbers for strength and precision.
• Foam Rope & Sealant: Place foam rope over the supporting baton to balance weight and minimise stress on the glass. Apply Dowsil 791 black sealant around the upstand for a watertight finish. Avoid acrylic sealants, which are not compatible with the system.
• Flashing: Flashing should fully surround the upstand to form a secure seal with the roof tiles. Flashing rolls are available in 7.5-metre lengths, suitable for skylights with a total perimeter of up to 6 metres (e.g. a 1000 x 2000 mm unit).
