Installation Guidelines
- Internal Dimensions: The top glass pane includes a black border, extending the external size by 200 mm in every direction.
- Creating the Opening: Allow an additional 10 mm internally (upstand to upstand) for a precise fit. For example, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm opening.
- Upstand Construction: Construct the upstand using 2×1 or 2×2-inch timber for a stable base.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Install foam rope on top of the supporting baton to even out the weight and relieve stress on the glass. Apply Dowsil 791 black sealant around the upstand for a fully watertight seal. Avoid acrylic sealants, as they are incompatible with this product.
- Flashing: Each skylight requires flashing around its full circumference. Our 7.5-metre flashing rolls are suitable for skylights with a perimeter of up to 6 metres (e.g., 1000 x 2000 mm).
