Installation Guidance

• Internal Dimensions: The top pane includes a black border, extending the overall size by approximately 200 mm in each direction.
• Creating the Opening: Allow an additional 10 mm internally (upstand to upstand) to achieve a precise fit. For instance, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires an internal opening of 610 x 910 mm.
• Upstand Construction: The upstand (timber framework) should be constructed using 2×1 or 2×2-inch timbers for a secure fit.
• Foam Rope & Sealant: Apply foam rope on top of the internal supporting baton to balance weight and relieve pressure on the glass. Use Dowsil 791 black sealant to create a watertight seal around the upstand. Avoid acrylic sealants, as they are not compatible.
• Flashing: Ensure flashing is applied around the entire perimeter of the skylight. Flashing rolls are supplied in 7.5-metre lengths—sufficient for skylights up to 6 metres in circumference, such as a 1000 x 2000 mm model.
