Installation Guidance

• Internal Dimensions: The top glass pane includes a subtle black border, extending the external dimensions by 200 mm in every direction.
• Creating the Opening: Allow an additional 10 mm internally (upstand to upstand) for correct fitting. For example, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires an opening of 610 x 910 mm.
• Upstand Construction: Construct the wooden upstand using 2×1 or 2×2-inch timbers for durability and support.
• Foam Rope & Sealant: Apply foam rope on top of the internal baton to balance weight and minimise stress on the glass. Use Dowsil 791 black sealant for a watertight seal. Avoid acrylic sealants as they are not compatible with this product.
• Flashing: Proper flashing is essential for weatherproofing. Each skylight requires flashing around its full perimeter. Our 7.5-metre rolls typically cover one skylight with a total perimeter of up to 6 metres (e.g., 1000 x 2000 mm).
