Installation Recommendations
For optimal fit and performance, follow these professional installation guidelines:
- Dimensions: The top glass pane includes a black border, extending external measurements by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for accurate fitting. For example, a 600 x 900 mm unit should have a 610 x 910 mm opening.
- Upstand Construction: Construct the upstand using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for structural stability and precision.
- Foam Rope & Sealant: Apply foam rope atop the internal support baton to distribute weight evenly and reduce stress on the glass. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant for a watertight seal. Do not use acrylic sealants, as they are incompatible with this product.
