• Dimensions: The top glass includes a black border, which increases the external size by 200 mm in each direction.
• Opening Preparation: Allow an extra 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for accurate fitting. For example, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
• Upstand Construction: Build the upstand (wooden framework) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for robust support.
• Foam Rope and Sealant: Place foam rope on top of the supporting baton to balance weight distribution. Apply Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant around the perimeter for a watertight finish. Acrylic sealants should not be used as they are incompatible with the glazing materials.
