Installation Guidelines
To achieve the best results and a long-lasting finish, follow these installation recommendations:
- Dimensions: The top glass pane includes a black border, extending the external size by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for a precise fit. For example, a 600 x 900 mm unit should have an internal opening of 610 x 910 mm.
- Upstand Construction: Construct the upstand using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for optimal strength and stability.
- Foam Rope & Sealant: Place foam rope on the internal support baton to distribute glass weight evenly. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant for a watertight perimeter. Do not use acrylic sealants, as they are incompatible with this product.
