Installation Recommendations
For a professional and secure installation, follow these guidelines:
- Dimensions: The top pane includes a black border, extending the external measurements by 200 mm in each direction.
- Creating the Opening: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for a proper fit. For instance, a 600 x 900 mm unit requires an internal opening of 610 x 910 mm.
- Upstand Construction: Construct the upstand (the timber frame that supports the skylight) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers.
- Foam Rope & Sealant: Place foam rope on the internal supporting baton to balance the weight evenly. Seal with Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant to ensure a watertight finish. Avoid acrylic sealants, as they are not compatible with this unit.
