Installation Guidelines
To ensure a professional and watertight installation, follow these best practices:
- Dimensions: The top pane features a black border, extending the external dimensions by 200 mm in all directions.
- Creating the Opening: Allow an extra 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for fitting tolerance. For instance, a 600 x 900 mm unit requires a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
- Upstand Construction: Build the upstand (timber frame) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for robust support.
- Foam Rope & Sealant: Place foam rope on the internal support baton to balance weight distribution. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant for a watertight seal. Do not use acrylic sealants as they are incompatible with the glass.
