Installation Recommendations
For a professional finish and watertight installation, please follow these key guidelines:
- Dimensions: The top pane includes a black border that extends the external size by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for accurate fitting. For instance, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
- Upstand Construction: Construct the upstand (timber framework) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for optimal support and stability.
- Foam Rope & Sealant: Apply foam rope on the internal support baton to balance glass weight and minimise pressure points. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant for a watertight seal. Avoid acrylic sealants, which are not compatible with this product.
