Installation Recommendations
For a precise and watertight installation, please follow the guidance below:
- Dimensions: The top glass pane includes a black border, increasing the external size by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally from upstand to upstand for proper fitting. For example, a 600 x 900 mm unit requires a 610 x 910 mm internal opening.
- Upstand Construction: Construct the upstand (timber framework) using 2×1 or 2×2 inch timbers for stable support.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Apply foam rope on the internal supporting baton to balance glass weight. Use Dowsil 791 black silicone sealant to ensure a watertight seal. Acrylic sealants are not compatible and should be avoided.
