Installation Guidelines
- Internal Dimensions: The top glass pane includes a black border, increasing external dimensions by 200 mm in each direction.
- Opening Preparation: Allow an additional 10 mm internally (upstand to upstand) for a perfect fit. For instance, a 600 x 900 mm skylight requires a 610 x 910 mm opening.
- Upstand Construction: Build the upstand using 2×1 or 2×2-inch timber for a stable and secure frame.
- Foam Rope and Sealant: Place foam rope along the supporting baton to balance weight and stress. Seal with Dowsil 791 black sealant for waterproofing—avoid using acrylic sealants.
- Flashing: Flashing must cover the full skylight perimeter. Rolls are supplied in 7.5-metre lengths; one roll typically covers skylights up to 1000 x 2000 mm (6 linear metres).
